Spring is coming – and that means a new boat!

I am so happy that spring is almost here, because that means boating season is right around the corner and this year we are getting a new boat! Our old one just died a horrible death a few years ago, and we are finally going to replace her with a newer model. I absolutely love the great outdoors and going out on the lake is so much fun. There are many places to camp if you want to camp out for the weekend and enjoy nature at it’s best. Our summer weekends mean getting away from it all and having fun on the water.

We are trying to decide whether to get a pontoon boat this time or another smaller boat. I am all for the pontoon as it is easier to camp off of. It holds more gear and comes with a BBQ grill and everything. As well as electrical outlet plugs and a radio with a CD player.

My honey wants the cheaper smaller boat as it is easier to get into and out of the water. No can do! We are going to get something really nice this time around and I want to be able to really relax and have fun. I bet I get my way on this one!

Don’t Forget To Give

One thing I have been doing lately is some winter cleaning in anticipation of Spring. Since I went through just about every room in the house, I came up with a few items I no longer need. It hit me just then that I should give them to worthy organization.

The good thing is that I don’t have to go anywhere. There is one organization that will pick up my used items from my home. I feel good knowing I am helping others in need as well as getting my house a little cleaner.

In like a Lion

Today being the first day of March and Spring just around the corner, I was wondering if it would be nice weather or stormy weather. After all, they say that if March comes in like a Lion with bad weather, that it will go out like a lamb with nice weather.

The weather doesn’t really mean that much to me unless it is extreme, but I do admit that if I had a choice I would prefer good weather, like a typical Spring or Summer day. I guess that also depends upon your definition of good. To me, good weather is a sunny day with a slight breeze. If the temperatures range anywhere between 55 and 90, then I am a happy girl.

Boots for Mud and Puddles

Most of the boots I have are not for wearing in the rain and walking through mud. But I saw these Ralph Lauren boots and had to have them. These are classy and practical and with all this rain we’ve been having lately, I need them.

These boots are going to be great for the next several weeks during the Spring rains, and then I’m sure I will get more use out of them once in a while when we have the Summer evening thunderstorms and Autumn rains, too.

My Thoughts on Wireless Fences For Dogs

With the amount of pit bulls that are continuing to become so popular in our neighborhood, I am really concerned with the safety of the people that are outside enjoying the nice weather and getting all the things done that are necessary to do outside at this time of the year. I can’t tell you how many times I have had to call our local police department to inform them that there is a pit bull loose in the neighborhood, which is against the law as well as morally wrong, in my opinion.

A few neighbors have turned to purchasing and installing the wireless fences for dogs, which is all well and good to a certain extent. Unfortunately many people aren’t aware of this invisible fencing and are still intimidated with seeing a dog (usually a pit bull) alone and unattended to in their yard, not even knowing or realizing that there has been a wireless fence installed. I really wish that they would make signs stating that this property is using a wireless fence and that people would purchase them and install them in the sights of people that are passing by. This would make a lot more people feel safe and secure knowing that these dogs are going to come running after them.
