Our house seems to have accumulated an overly large number of nick knacks. Many of these items are gifts that we have received over the years and others are ones we admittedly purchased for ourselves when the urge and need hit. No matter how they came, they are here in spades! Everywhere I look the shelves are full to the hilt with all manner of treasures. We have nearly everything one could think of.
The biggest problem we have with all of these things is the ability to dust them off. They seem to attract a great deal of dirt and grime and are in constant need of being cleaned. I’ll be glad when the time comes that we will be able to rid ourselves of some of these space taker uppers and free up our shelves!
We will have our selves one heck of a yard sale. Feelings will be hurt and relationships will be strained, but for goodness sake, it’s only stuff and you can’t take it all with you when you go. I still have stuff from when I was 12 and 13 that I can’t even image letting go of, but at some point it will, when the time is right.
Happy holidays! It seems like just yesterday that I was saying those words. My, how time flies. Halloween has come and gone, thanksgiving is just a week or so away, and before we know it, Christmas will be right around the corner.
For those of those of us are lucky enough to have family and friends close to us during this time of year. We are truly the blessed ones. For those of us not so lucky, may all of you also find peace within the world and yourselves.
In this life, we all have to learn some lessons the hard way. One of the lessons I learned was about car insurance. It always pays to have it. I remember when I got my first car and I had set up an appointment for the next day to buy insurance. The problem was that I wanted to drive it home immediately. As soon as I got off the lot I was hit from behind by a truck.
Needless to say, the incident cost me a fortune. To this day, I will never get in a car without insurance! I highly recommend that anyone buying a vehicle should look for car insurance quotes before you drive the car anywhere! I hope you can profit my hard earned lesson!
Bubble Baths are one of the best stress busters for me and I try to enjoy one at the end of a long day at work. I find myself a good book, bring the cell and house phone in the room with me, and soak for a good 30 minutes, or so, with all of the bubbles that my tub will hold.
Between the laundry mat and my nightly bubble bath I get a good amount of time to enjoy my favorite reading materials and I really enjoy reading. I go through books like a crazy person, they come in the house and stay a while and back out the door they go, making room for the newly acquired ones. It is a constant shuffle but well worth the effort and time.
One thing I have been doing lately is some winter cleaning in anticipation of Spring. Since I went through just about every room in the house, I came up with a few items I no longer need. It hit me just then that I should give them to worthy organization.
The good thing is that I don’t have to go anywhere. There is one organization that will pick up my used items from my home. I feel good knowing I am helping others in need as well as getting my house a little cleaner.
