You have to understand that I don’t have a single musical bone in my body. I can’t carry tune, in fact my babies would cry when I would try and sing to them in an effort to comfort or soothe them into a nice slumber. NOT! They would cry and scream even louder, something I took to heart for a very long time and still throw in their face from time to time and we have a good laugh about. But it still a fact that I can’t sing.
I have never had any luck with any musical instrument that I have found myself attracted to or given access to. I took piano lessons for 2 1/2 years and still can’t read music or play even the simplest tune that many 2nd graders know by heart. I couldn’t even memorize chop sticks for goodness sakes!
So my neighbor was rattling on about his new microphone from the local guitar center atlanta that his wife had gave him for his birthday, last year, She round it at which he really didn’t have a birthday at all because he is a leap year baby and last year wasn’t a leap year. It seems that the years that he really doesn’t have a calendar birthday his wife really goes out of her way to make up for “inconvenience” of being a leap year baby, which I think is pretty cool of her. They are good people, don’t get me wrong. It is such a pleasure to have neighbors that are as nice as these people are it’s just not what I had planned for tomorrow night, but nothing that I can’t reschedule.
The love of my life has been spending a good amount of time planning something very special for the up and coming Valentine’s Day for us to enjoy, but has been trying so hard to keep it a secret. He knows that it is driving me crazy not knowing what he is up to and that it is very difficult to pull off a surprise with me, which makes him try even harder to keep his lips sealed.
I think that I have figured part of it out, though I won’t let him know what I discovered on his computer today while he was visiting his parents. Usually he takes his laptop with him wherever he goes, but today he walked out the door and left it behind. Now, people that really know me, know that I am not the type of person to snoop into somebody elses business. I respect people’s privacy and all that, but this big secret that he is hiding is just driving me crazy. So when he left and I noticed he didn’t take his laptop I figured it was the perfect opportunity to see just what has been up to and boy wasn’t I surprised to find the sites that he has been visiting and has bookmarked.
It looks like he has found and booked us a room at one of the Executive Fantasy Hotels Miami Florida, which I have never heard of up until now, but after what I saw online about it I can’t wait to see it and experience it myself! I just hope that this doesn’t come back and bite me in the butt. I could be totally off base with his intentions. I know that one should never assume, and lord knows I try not to. If you haven’t seen or heard of this unique fantasy hotel you really should check out their website.
Tonight marks the first full moon of the year 2017. Because it is the first full moon, it is also known as the wolf moon. This name dates back to American Indian culture and their belief that wolfs howl at moon because they are hungry. There is also an added bonus that comes with tonight’s bright moon.
When the moons orbit is closest to us, it is called perigee. When perigee and a full moon coincide, as they will tonight, the result is a brighter, bigger moon. This means that some features of the moons surface will be very visible. I hope that everyone will be able to take a few minutes to walk outside and check out this rare and awesome sight!
This holiday season hasn’t seemed much like christmas. Everyone I know is tight on money and worried about keeping a roof over their heads. Buying a lot of Christmas presents just isn’t the smartest thing to do these days. But then again, families need to do something for their kids. So in my family we gave amnesty to all the adults and said that we would just focus on the kids under 19 years old. That seems fair – Christmas is for kids, anyways.
So us adults are celebrating in a different way. We are doing nice things for each other and making a point of being cheerful and happy over the holidays.
I hope you enjoy your own Christmas and that Santa finds his way to your house OK.
Our house seems to have accumulated an overly large number of nick knacks. Many of these items are gifts that we have received over the years and others are ones we admittedly purchased for ourselves when the urge and need hit. No matter how they came, they are here in spades! Everywhere I look the shelves are full to the hilt with all manner of treasures. We have nearly everything one could think of.
The biggest problem we have with all of these things is the ability to dust them off. They seem to attract a great deal of dirt and grime and are in constant need of being cleaned. I’ll be glad when the time comes that we will be able to rid ourselves of some of these space taker uppers and free up our shelves!
We will have our selves one heck of a yard sale. Feelings will be hurt and relationships will be strained, but for goodness sake, it’s only stuff and you can’t take it all with you when you go. I still have stuff from when I was 12 and 13 that I can’t even image letting go of, but at some point it will, when the time is right.
