A Bubble Bath & A Good Book

Bubble Baths are one of the best stress busters for me and I try to enjoy one at the end of a long day at work. I find myself a good book, bring the cell and house phone in the room with me, and soak for a good 30 minutes, or so,  with all of the bubbles that my tub will hold.

Between the laundry mat and my nightly bubble bath I get a good amount of time to enjoy my favorite reading materials and I really enjoy reading. I go through books like a crazy person, they come in the house and stay a while and back out the door they go, making room for the newly acquired ones. It is a constant shuffle but well worth the effort and time.

The Library

I had some time to go down to our local library. I needed to take back some books and pick up some new ones. They have a very nice area where you can sit and read. I’ve always enjoyed going to the library. It’s a great place to get some peace and quiet. There is something about being around all those books as well.

The best part about our library is that it is very close to my house. I can stop on my way home and drop off the books I have and pick out some new ones to read. I usually like the scary books like Stephen King writes. I also like the ghost stories as well. Sometimes I take the kids with me. I think it’s good to expose them to literature at an early age. All in all, the library is one of my favorite places to go!

Little Bee – a Good Read

For some reason this book titled, “Little Bee,” ended up in my hands. I decided to try reading it, although I don’t usually have much time for reading. I just decided that I needed some “me” time yesterday and I sat out on the porch and read the first half of this book. It is marvelous. I am thoroughly enjoying it. If you want a short escape from reality and a better appreciation for the good things in your life, read Little Bee.

P/T Christmas Help

I am one of the many that are trying to keep food on the table, the utilities paid up, the mortgage company off of my back, and the bill collectors that keep calling all day and evening. I have had to take on another job, just part time, but still giving them over 25 hours a week of my time for a lousy $7.70 an hour. I start in three weeks.

It isn’t all that hard, I’ve done it before, sitting at one of those seasonal kiosks that always pack in the malls during the Christmas Holiday Shopping Season. I get to sit down when business is slow, so I get a lot of reading done, with my book of the week that I so enjoy. And I get to see a lot of people that I normally don’t get to see very often, almost everyone goes to the mall at some point during the holiday season even though more and more folks are doing a good amount of their holiday shopping online these days. There are still many reasons to go to mall even if you don’t buy a single gift this time of the year.

The one thing I’m not looking forward to is hearing the same old Christmas/Holiday songs that they play over and over and over and over and over and over and over . . .
