Christmas Cheer

This holiday season hasn’t seemed much like christmas. Everyone I know is tight on money and worried about keeping a roof over their heads. Buying a lot of Christmas presents just isn’t the smartest thing to do these days. But then again, families need to do something for their kids. So in my family we gave amnesty to all the adults and said that we would just focus on the kids under 19 years old. That seems fair – Christmas is for kids, anyways.

So us adults are celebrating in a different way. We are doing nice things for each other and making a point of being cheerful and happy over the holidays.

I hope you enjoy your own Christmas and that Santa finds his way to your house OK.

Knick Knacks and More!

Our house seems to have accumulated an overly large number of nick knacks. Many of these items are gifts that we have received over the years and others are ones we admittedly purchased for ourselves when the urge and need hit. No matter how they came, they are here in spades! Everywhere I look the shelves are full to the hilt with all manner of treasures. We have nearly everything one could think of.

The biggest problem we have with all of these things is the ability to dust them off. They seem to attract a great deal of dirt and grime and are in constant need of being cleaned. I’ll be glad when the time comes that we will be able to rid ourselves of some of these space taker uppers and free up our shelves!

We will have our selves one heck of a yard sale. Feelings will be hurt and relationships will be strained, but for goodness sake, it’s only stuff and you can’t take it all with you when you go. I still have stuff from when I was 12 and 13 that I can’t even image letting go of, but at some point it will, when the time is right.

A Celebration Or Two

One thing everyone knows about me is that I love to attend the Mardi Gras festival every year. It’s always a wild time and it’s as fun as anything I’ve ever done. Each time I go, I like to dress up. It’s half the fun of going. Luckily, this year I found a cool site that has the supplies I need to make my trip complete. They have a wide selection of items to choose from.

This year I plan to attend the festival again and will dress up as well. I purchased one of the Mardi Gras Masks that was available from the site. I think it looks great and I can’t wait to try it out. I’m sure I’ll be in the thick of the party and be the envy of all who see me.

Hopefully I will be able to use this mask again at another party that we sometimes dress up for. I can’t wait to use the laser party lights that I bought a few months ago. I haven’t held a “theme party” in a long time. I think I am long over due!

Coming Along Nicely

There was an email in my email inbox confirming that order for the Agogo Bells was indeed processed and ready to head out my way this morning. I am not the most patient person in the world so I do appreciate all that the Internet brings to us almost instantly. I can’t image ordering anything that I couldn’t check up and/or track online. We are the generation of instant gratification indeed!

I’ll feel a lot better once it is here and I know that it has arrived in time for the party next week! There are going to be a good amount of friends and family there that I haven’t seen since last Christmas. I sure hope everyone is on their best behavior and that no drama starts up between anyone, but that hasn’t always been the case these past couple of years. But that is a whole other can of worms that I don’t want to open up right now.

Seattle’s Best Decaf Coffee Used In Our Break Room

Drinking coffee is relatively new to me. I have always been a tea drinker. But I kept being handed different types of coffee drinks at work that people would buy for everyone and eventually I started getting used to the taste, since I just couldn’t throw it away and they kept insisting to at least give it a try. I still enjoy my hot cup of tea first thing in the morning and the one that I have right after dinner. But throughout the day I do enjoy a cup of coffee now and then and co-workers are still coming in with new coffee based drinks that are on sale or are some type of holiday special, which is fun!

The coffee that is always available in the break room is this best decaf coffee that I’ve tried so far. It is Seattle’s Best Blend Decaf Coffee that they order online.

I do try and drink as much decaf coffee and my tea as well, so it doesn’t make me too wired up and we all know that caffeine is not good for you in the long run. I don’t think caffeine affects me like it does so many other people. I really can live with or with out it.
