Friday the 13th
February 13, 2009
As a kid I used to be very serious about some superstitions. Like, we would walk home from school and avoid the sidewalk cracks. “Step on a crack – break your mother’s back!”
We would toss salt over our shoulders, knock on wood, and say “geshuntite” when someone sneezed. I think the whole world has certain superstitions among all the different cultures, and I wonder how many other countries get a little freaky about Friday the 13th?
Thank You, Mr Groundhog
February 2, 2009
In the South we have a groundhog that doesn’t always agree with that famous Yankee groundhog up in Pennsylvania. The groundhog down in Atlanta says that Spring will be coming early this year. That sounds like a good thing to me. The weather down here rarely has anything to do with the weather in Pennsylvania anyway. So I going with the Atlanta groundhog forecast. I guess we’ll see who is right in a few weeks.
